For over 70 years, DS Colour Labs has been at the heart of the UK’s photographic industry. Established in 1954 as a family-run portrait studio in South Manchester, we have grown into one of the country’s most trusted names in professional printing and film processing.
As part of our continued growth and dedication to the analogue photography community, the film side of our business is now evolving into DS Film Labs. While still part of DS Colour Labs, this new identity reflects our deep passion for film and our commitment to preserving and enhancing the craft of film photography.
At DS Film Labs, our goal is simple: to provide photographers—whether hobbyists or professionals—with exceptional film processing, scanning, and printing. We pride ourselves on offering unmatched negative quality through our top-of-the-line chemistry; speed and reliability with our dual Fuji Frontier & Noritsu HS-1800 setup; and the finest prints on the finest photopaper from our Fuji Wet-lab.
From our roots in DS Colour Labs, we have evolved alongside the photography industry. As DS Film Labs, we are doubling down on our love for film while keeping the efficiency, quality, and trust our customers expect.
We are committed to minimising our environmental impact by working with eco-conscious partners to recycle as much plastic and chemical waste as possible. As the industry evolves, we continue to explore ways to make film photography more sustainable.
The transition to DS Film Labs marks an exciting new chapter, allowing us to refine and expand our services specifically for film photographers. While still deeply connected to DS Colour Labs, this shift ensures we remain at the forefront of analogue photography for decades to come.
We are proud of our history, excited about the future, and dedicated to delivering the best possible experience for every roll of film that comes through our doors.
